What is a casino
Casinos are one of the major places people gamble, however they did not always come together. In fact, Casino's were built many centuries after gambling started. The word casino originates from an Italian word, "Casa" which means house. Later on, as the development of the Italian language improved, the word came to mean a "center of social gathering." Inside Casinos, there are games such as poker, roulette, slot machines and many more. To get inside a Casino, you have to be 21 years or older. It is also free to enter and stay as long as you want, only if you continue to gamble.

Everybody has at least gambled once in their life, even you. Gambling has always been a part of Human history. Gambling doesn't always have to be in casinos. For a very long time, people have always gambled. It's not always about the money. Believe it or not, young children gamble too. For example,they make bets on sport's, game's and hope for a desired result.
Gambling can get very addicting. Gambling addiction is also known as compulsive gambling. Compulsive is a type of impulse-control disorder. Impulse-control disorder is when you fail to resist a temptation that may end up hurting you, or others that care about you, Compulsive gamblers cant control the urge to gamble even when they know that there hurting themselves and loved ones. Gambling is all they think about, all they want to do, despite the consequences. Gamblers also have a problem, regarding being out of control. It is called problem gambling. Problem gamblers are also called ludomania. They have an urge to continue to gamble despite the harmful result or have a desire to stop but they cant.
Both Compulsive gambling and Problem gambling go along the same line. They both describe that being addicted to gambling is very hard to overcome. The information told by both types is gambling can hurt you and your beloved ones, and as much as you try to stop gambling, you cant because your addicted. It takes an extreme amount of effort to overcome your addiction.

In 1996, Las Vegas had a record of 29.6 million visitors. Of those visitors, about 87% gambled. The visitors spend an average of 4 hours each day gambling, and made a total of $580.90 for the trip. In 1996, there were 40 casinos, and a gross gaming income of 1 million dollars. Las Vegas is by far the fastest growing city in the United States. U.S. gamblers all together lose $6 billion a year in Las Vegas casinos.
